Two kinds of time, and the moment that breaks through
Greek has two words for time. Chronos is the clock. Kairos is the appointed moment — the precise hour the door opens. Skene is the tent — Israel's tabernacle, but also (in 2 Cor 5) the body the believer presently lives in. Kainos is new in kind. Neos is new in time. Atmis is a vapor that appears for a little while and then is gone. Telos is the end, but in the sense of the goal that everything has been moving toward.
